When should I see an Infectious Disease specialist?
For prolonged fever, recurrent or resistant infections, HIV, tuberculosis, transplant-related infection, travel infection or complex antibiotic therapy.
What is the difference between MD and DM?
DM Infectious Diseases is a three-year super-specialty degree after MD and is the highest clinical qualification in this field in India.

Is tuberculosis curable?
Yes. Drug-sensitive TB has a very high cure rate with correct and complete treatment.
What is HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis?
PEP is emergency HIV prevention started within 72 hours, ideally as soon as possible, and continued for 28 days.
Can people with HIV live a normal life?
Yes. Modern ART allows people with HIV to live normal lifespans with excellent quality of life.
